This notion came to me when I made a simple observation: when a woman wears something different than a cowboy hat, fedora, or ball cap, others tend to notice. A fashion statement is made, compliments typically follow, and the hat wearing woman starts to walk a little taller, smile a little wider, and she finds a bit more swagger in her step. The hat does not need to be enormous, have lots of feathers, or giant bows. It doesn't need to "make a scene".
